Road Trip Quilt ..... almost finished!

I have almost completed my first finish of 2018! There's no need to brag, however, since Its been 5 1/2 years in the making.  Some rare snow here in N.C. and a day off work, gave me some time to work on it.

I had a few hours of quilting to finish.  You can see the snow through the window.

Then on Saturday I made the binding and sewed it on the quilt.

Now I am in the process of sewing the binding down on the back by hand.  I recently bought these little clips and love them!

The temperature outside has been very cold this whole weekend..... well, its been extremely cold for about 2 weeks.  So it has been nice to be under the quilt while working on it!

My goal is to finish this quilt by this weekend and move on to other projects.  Knowing this quilt was sitting there waiting for me to finish was a mental block for my creativity.  I'm ready to work on some new projects that I am already planning, such as Christmas gifts for next Christmas,  crocheting baby hats for a new grand baby that is on the way, and lots of quilts!

Congrats! on a finish!! I love the scrappiness of your quilt and am excited for you that you have an end in sight. I enjoy hand stitching the binding, do you? I sometimes think I enjoy hand stitching more than I do sitting at the machine. Your quilt is beautiful and if you hurry up, you can photograph it in the snow today!!! I think it's going to melt away this week... and I'm so glad! It's been crazy cold, hasn't it? I'm so ready for Spring.
