I finally did some sewing.... finished the Game Board Quilt.
I machine quilted it with a small meander which helps it to be slightly stiff and not puffy, and therefore good for playing checkers.
This pattern can be found in Kathleen Tracy's book, "Prairie Children and their quilts" HERE.

This is really cute.
Cute... did you decide what kind of game pieces to use?
I am glad to see it completed. It is so attractive and will be appreciated by the recipient.
Game pieces?
We must play checkers on our metal game board when you are here.
Very nice, love your fabric choices.
What a neat checker board. It will be fun to use when the family gathers at your house.
Debbie, I have a question a little off topic. I have fabric that I cannot get the wrinkles out of even if I dampen it and use a hot iron it is 100% cotton. Do you have any ideas? Thank you so much for any help you can give.
Looks great...and love your Fall runner too!!
